What is involved in fitting one of those defender dash mod things - one that makes the old dash look like a TD5 dash?

An a load of ag'. Jest paint a Rice Crispies box grey, glue it to the middle of yer dash & stick on some dijikal watches wiv the straps removed. Looks just as good.

Can tell yer how ter do a walnut dash conversion too if yer like? ;)

I've got a bag of mixed nuts somewhere, I am sure there is a walnut in it so I have the walnut but I am not sure about the fixing points etc...

I have just fitted a MUD console with 12 switches, a head unit, Cb radio, extra cig lighter, phono inputs for video and sound, and an extra 15A 12v output for whatever else I want to power using a 5 way terminal bininding post. Deep breath!

Fitting the dash is quite simple however trial fit 10 times before you cut anything!!! As always but its a pain because of the angles of head units etc.

I chose to use small switches with an led because of the number I needed but I think the larger type are much better, and look good too.

I have masses of cables running behind my dash next to the original wiring loom in fact I couldnt fit anymore wires behind there if I wanted to! I did however fit all my cables and fuses before fitting any dash and its still not quite finnished! I love the mud console its great! Jai

So now you it's not only the stereo, you can't hear the CB, the video, the dvd, the games console or the ipod either! Good thing is though you can light two fags at the same time :D

Jest next to Mr Bump is my preferred option.

Wiv sum glue. ;)

Mud stuff dash easy to fit.
I also sorted out the main harness that comes through the back of the dash as it is a typical place for fires to start when the wires rub through the bulkhead.

LOL!

Actually my 90 is quite quiet compared to others, especially now its TDI powered opposed to the Normally asmatic powered! I plan to kit it out graduly so it can be used for multi purpose roles mabe even travelling abroad and camping on my homemade roof tent. As for the goodies well they've all come in handy! Its great to watch the days off roading vids before you all leave the trial site! plus its handy to plug my nokia into the stereo/screen for tom tom or handsfree. Jai
