Hi guys
I spotted this:LAND ROVER DEFENDER Bulkhead Removal Bar 90 110 Hardtop on eBay (end time 18-Sep-09 17:48:29 BST)
As someone has removed part of my bulkhead the tub and roof flex when you shut the door this reall annoys me, especially as the price or that peice of pipe!
I got me thinking, watch out thers sparks! it got me thinking about a replacement peice that requires no welding! as my recent attempt at welding has knocked my confidence, (i was mig welding outside, was the problem, oh and me) I was wondering if it was possible to make a bracket at approx 45deg from top of tub near door hinge to the floor of tub, then remove the rest of that Bhead. or i have a nice new piece of ali box section and was gonna get a (competent) man to weld on some plates at the end of bx section and fix it with some nice stainless bolts, and have a solid bar running behind seats, BUT that will prob be in the, all the time, and if i dont get the mesurement right it will be worse than it is now
any one else tried this with good results.
No, 'new rear tub' posts please. this is already my idea as i have seen tubs cheaper than that bent bar. on the flipside of my comment on the bar, it a very good idea, well done, just xpensive i feel.:blabla:
