Defender 90

Hi All,
Recently acquired a 2003 Defender TD5 90 and I am also new to the forum. Unsurprisingly, I have started the repairs!!
What are people’s views on the factory fitted alarm and immobiliser on this model? It works off a remote fob with the key.
Any suggestions for additional security?

I eschewed the electrics of the Td5 and opted for the simpler 300tdi so can't comment
Am sure you'll get the help (and councelling) neeeded here..

A decent pedal lock and steering wheel lock would be a good start. A tracking device too. I have no experience of the factory fitted alarm and immobiliser but these can be upgraded.

Many thanks for the advice Knappster. Discovered the bonnet release sets the alarm off!

Just researching front damper replacement. It looks like I have some air con pipes over the near side turret cover which I didn’t want to remove.

If I can’t work it out I may have to post a request for advice.

Yes, I know but it came with it. I was after one with no bulkhead behind the front seats so wasn’t bothered about the a/c. It leaks like every other Defender!!
