I'm looking to replace the nuts, bolts & washers that hold the rear drop down tailgate on my defender 90 truck cab, & also the ones that attach to the rear crossmember.
Re: Tailgate - Were these originally 10mm (M6) bolts, & do the bolts have washers on every bolt on the outer section where you connect the arms? Mine only has them on the top hence why I ask. Would you suggest getting treated steel bolts or stainless steel for this section? Also could you use coach bolts instead?
Re: Rear crossmember bolts - I have seen a lot of people saying to use stainless steel bolts & even though there isn't much load weight there I would prefer something slightly stronger. So do you think stainless or treated steel bolts are the way to go? Also, again could you use coach bolts with a little modification?
I'm sorry for asking questions on this but I'm just making sure I get the best bits for the job.
