hey guy

Thanks and excited to be here.

I am new to the land rover community after buying a 2nd hand 2014 Land Rover Range Rover last year and I love it.

But - decided to switch it up to free up some cash, lower my
Instance with my new neighbor hood having a very high insurance rate + and try out something new.

So - i really want a Defender 90 and since I have a 8mth old girl I need to know if i can fit Isofix in a defender in the back seat and if anyone has done it in the past?

Any guidance here is welcome

Many thanks

Sebastian

Welcome to LZ.:)

Not exactly sure where in London you live, but I suggest you research that idea very carefully.
The ULEZ will be extended to the North and South Circulars in about 2 years time, after which it will cost £12 per day to use or park a Defender within that area.

Welcome:)

I don’t think any defenders will have that system fitted. (I might be wrong)

But something can be sorted to secure your precious bundle:)

But maybe dropping to an older D3 may help.

Good luck

J

It'll cost for the Range Rover too. Can't think why someone in London would want a Defender. Well, I can, BUT unless they also have a country pile , what's the need for a 4x4 in the city.

Ideally you want to be looking for an early 1980s 110 or you're gonna get raped by the ULEZ in London, get the earliest 110 you can find with a V8 in it and then spend the next couple of years and a few grand doing it up and then love it, don't bother with a 90 for a family tug, they're too small unless you're migrating out of an Austin Mini/Metro LOLZ

Some Range Rovers will slip through the net. The oldest ones are historic vehicles, and the latest ones are probably Euro 6 compliant, so they will be OK.

No Defenders will qualify, all diesel, and none old enough to be historic.

I have no idea why anyone would want to drive one in London either.

So long as it meets or exceeds the regs you're ok.

My Jag is a 2005 Plate Euro 4 and it's exempt thanks to it being below the requirement

A mates BMW 530I 1999 is also exempt so you can get through..

Some latter Puma Fenders are exempt too IIRC

You'd be surprised.

Euro 4 for petrols, Euro 6 for diesels, some manufacturers moved to Euro 4 surprisingly early.

I doubt if the Pumas are exempt, because they have the Tdci engine same as my car, which doesn't qualify.

I wouldn't want a Fender in L though lol

I was considering keeping my mouth shut, but for the OP's benefit and I decided not to lol ;)

Series 3 it is for him then ;)

I prefer 2a myself, but most 3s are now historic.

However, I don't know if you can fit the Isofix that he speaks of in a Series, although I have no idea what it is.

It's a harness system for modern vehcules ;)

You could do that with a series, Zip ties..

Amazing things ;)
