Defender 90 Body work issues and spraying

Hi there


I am about to respray my defender 90 as the previous owner painted it with an aerosol can and its terrible. The body work has had a fair beating lots of dings which I will work on. I have an issue with both front upper wings. In the gap from the headlight to the front grill the wings has cracked and separated. This is exactly the same on both side. I am not sure if its had a little knock at some point. Has anyone had this issue?


The driver’s side wing seems very fragile. Currently they do not have wheel arches on I am wonder if I buy some arches this will provide support and make it easier to remove the dings.


How do you remove the rear wings? I am taking most panels of for the paint as I have the time to do it and I can easily remove some of the dints and damage.

The rear wings are part of the rear tub. I would remove the tub complete and then see if it needs stripping.

I can't picture what you mean. Do you still have the plastic headlight surround on? Can you post a picture?

By wheel arches a suspect you mean the 'eyebrows' that fix to the wing. These are plastic and will not help with removing the dings

As mick 1986 said, the rear wings are integral to the whole of the rear tub. All of the panels, that make up the tub, are spot welded together.

Specto marine in palma any jobs lol & il come & sort your landy out for you would like a nice house in the sun :D
