Hi James
i don't have the plugs as going from auto to manual have all the efi harness from engine to ecu and including the main plug from drivers foot well .thought their was a wire to earth out in this plug that was used in auto box wiring to inhibit starting in drive.

inhibitor is just breaking the circuit presumably loom to box is present just connect them at either end

cheers james
no wiring loom for box present i am only guessing that the efi picks up the inhibitor side of things will be fitting engine into manual rangy .the auto box wiring plugs into main harness for auto car . but thought it would also be spliced into efi system somewere if not then great but not sure

cheers james

efi is seperste to inhibitor ,efi picks up signal from coil

a that's great thanks for you help .
do you have any info on road speed censor . looking at efi plug looks like the yellow wire from censor plug (again the bit harness from censor plug goes into main harness in old car presumably to feed speedo ) thinking yellow will go into yellow conection in main plug for efi .and green wire going into censor will be fed from ignition switch

old thread i know
finished putting 93 hotwire efi into my 72 3.5 rangy all running nice only probs so far are .fitted 3.9 plastic tank with in tank pump.
using 72 wiring if i earth 1 of the old wires gauge goes to full /earth other 1 fuel light comes on.
but if connected to new pump sender no joy the only way i get a reading on gauge is if i connect old wire from car to what should be live feed to pump then gauge will go to full .or connect other old wire fuel light comes on any one have info about getting round this problem .
or is it not poss to connect old and new to get gauge to function correctly
cheers mal

hi james
pump has earth to connection on chassis and an earth in harness to earth connection in sender .
efi pump/sender unit has three wires blue /white .live feed from efi.
black earth
green i thought would be feed to gauge .
old wiring has black/ blue and green wires

it should be earthing through the black then green is just the live feed from guage ,try checking voltage through pick up on sender once removed from tank

will do james
part that has me stumped is why gauge fuel light work when disconnecting live feed /blue white from efi then connecting .blue /white from sender to old wires

Get a multi meter on it.. live for pump will be 12v, the level sender should a smaller gauge wire. The tank will have a common earth for both and 1 that has a varying resistance (try moving the tank or adding some fule and checking again). And the other will be the pump
