Then slowly the old girl comes back together, with new bolts and copper grease. And all with a little helper!

Fresh MOT today on her and she is good for another couple of years - however she is coming on for a chassis replacement now and I plan I doing that in two years time once I have my workshop built!

Ah many thanks mate - being at home and not work definitely helped! What’s pleasing is all those little jobs I had been putting off, are now completed.

they’re the non enjoyable jobs. I like sticking in fresh parts and upgrades and stuff but I’ve spent two years just chopping and welding my d1. My hunger had come back for it though

I know what you mean, it can get a bit depressing as the more you look the more you find, that’s why I did it in bite size bits and had every other day off. Glad you got your appetite back mate. I will say then you get it back on the road it is a great feeling knowing that you have done all the work yourself. If I had a garage do it I worked out it would have cost about £1200, doing myself it cost me the total of £200 and my time.

I honestly don’t know how people afford or why they buy them if garages do all that kind of work. I’ve easily done a grands worth of labour on my 90 within weeks of buying it.

You reckon you’ll go galv chassis in future then? It bulkhead quite tidy? Truck like this is a typical one that’s worth looking after!

Yes that’s the plan, will go for a galv chassis as my view is it future proofs it. Plus I will never sell her. The trucks totally standard really so worth I think a complete rebuild when I do the chassis.
