I am working in Angola and my Landy have to remain in South Africa for long periods without anybody ever driving it. It has now picked up the following problem. Do not pick up revs and once you do get it to rev up you have no power. Three posibilities were suggested. The unit next to the pedal is faulty and needs to be replaced. One of the injectors is not working properly. That is why you can get a sudden surge of power. Thirdly it was found that there is oil in the electrical harness leading to the computer and this needs to be replaced.
What is the most likely problem or can it be a combination of everything.

normally with oil in harness you change injector harness in rocker box and clean other as much as possible both ends ,since no more oil will enter loom eventually if you keep cleaning end at ect it will dry up i would buy a diagnostic tool such as hwakeye from bearmach or other £200 to £300 it will give you function of all the different possibilities such as throttle potentiometer etc with fault codes or better live data

Hi Jacobus, ek woon in Botswana, we have a whole fleet of TD5s here and the above problem sometimes sticks its ugly head out here aswell, to start check harness at computer box, unplug and if full of oil clean it as good as you can ( i use q20 and spray a lot in the plug and then blow out with air, repeat until clean) short term solution, secondly actual injecter harness, open top of motor, unplug harness and clean as above, make sure plugs on harness stil make good contact, you can ajust the pins with a thin screw driver if needs be,and re assemble, you can do exactly the same with the pedal, unplug and cleen conections, try these methods one by one and see which solves the issue, i would guess that its the injector harness.
let us know if you come rite

Rean, Dankie vir jou raad. I tried to clean but eventually replaced with a secondhand. Now running like new. I am putting it in the market. A vehicle like that cannot stand for long periods. If you know about somebody that might be interested let me know on my mail at [email protected].
