I could not find a similar thread for new Landy owners (prob cause you all think the Duratorq ZSD-422 is rubbish and hence would not buy one!!)

Irrespective....... My first post - so would appreciate any help.
I am up for my 1st year service (1 year solid motoring with no problems).
Local Landrover want shy of £500. Local specialist (Harris Mayes Country Cars Rickmansworth) want half that.
I know that a local specialist doing a service wont invalidate warranty (so long as oil & filter etc are Landy OEM).
I think that if any warranty work needs doing, it needs to be done by Land Rover only ?? (please confirm).
HOWEVER - does anyone have a view on the impact on the re-sale value of the car being serviced during warranty by a specialist rather than Landrover?

couple of points,
Ee dont think its rubbish, but were all too tight fisted to buy a new fender, and older ones appeal much more, even them TD5s is full of electrickery witchcraft.

cant see what an indi service would affect anything, but yes, warranty work is dealer

now run along, to the aptly named "introduce yourself" section, and do what it says on the tin :) theres a good chap.

It won't adversely affect resale value, no one is that bothered who does a service, if anything an independent would be preferred.

from a strictly warranty point of view I always used a dealer till warranty is up , as most manufactuers will use any excuse , and you can easily end up piggy in the middle between an indy and LR JMHO
