Good afternoon all -

Would anyone know how difficult if possible at all would be to transplant a TDV6 engine into an old Def 110 fitted with a heavy duty LT85?

I have read a feature on a magazine, but unsure as to which specialist would be able to do this

Thanks for any information

GG

wots the price on one of them engines?Bet you could buy a pretty decent depender for the money.

Have a search for Bell Auto Services. They are building/have built a 100" Defender with a TDV8, Disco3 manual box and LT230 transfer box...

If you are serious about it, they could be the ones to call

the lt85 is no good as it is the split case gearbox very weak compared to the lt95 4 speed or the late lt77s box or r380 but to be honest you will need a special adptor making to mate it all together too auto would be the safest route due to power output over a standard lr engine.
lets put this way i have built a 4.6 340 bhp v8 for a customer who has it in a d2 with a manual box it smokes the clutch now so how long? and im already looking for a beefed up unit but this will only last so long till the box fails
