Anyone know if you can use the deep dish steel rims (military and the 1 tonne) on a 90 with standard wheel studs?

I know you can't the wolf rims, but is the deep dish steel thickness the same as standard steel rims?

Thanksing you
Are ye sayin' that ye 'can't' run the wolf rims on normal studs Muddy?
Ah've had mine on nearly a month and the previous owner had them on for a good couple of years too without any probs.

thought all mod items had to be interchangable wi civvy ones ie wheels filters, clutchs etc to allow fer max cannabilism
therfer wolfs should fit normul defender an vicerversa

Aye a gotta change clutch slave cylinder and handbrake shoes on mine, so im sure i will be achin anaw. (not desperate)
Done me fuel and air filters the day and added a bottle of forte fuel cleaner (which was a freebie) and goin tae carstairs the morra so that should help things a little

There tighter than a tight thing Trewy, can't see them coming off in a hurry. What would the diffrunce be if ah got sum o' them 'capped' wheel nuts?
capped nuts wouldn't make any difference - you would still have insufficient thread engagement because the studs are too short.
they shouldn't be tighter than a tight thing! 81lbft is the correct torque, which aint that tight.
the wheels are located by the action of the mating tapers on the inside of the nut and the dish on the wheel. the strength of the joint is dependent on the surface area of the mating threads - more surface (mating) area = more friction = more strength.

I wouldn't be happy belting down the motorway without full thread engagement on me wheel nuts!

PS - I once had both front wheels come off me mini simultaneously at 80mph, the front end dug in and it flipped end-over-end several times. fortunately, it was an oval track racer and I had a full harness, roll cage and crash helmet.
