Have a Freelander 1.8 petrol T plate

Problems started a few weeks ago when the car started a slight juddering. Also noticed that the rev counter, when idle was 1100 - 1200 rpm, which also started when I noticed the juddering getting worse.

My brother-in-law who is a mechanic said it sounds as though there is miss-fire somewhere. He changed the spark plugs and cleaned inside the dizy cap as there was corrusion. He advised that the dizy cap and rotor arm need changing as they are quite worn

I took it to my local garage and they said that the dizy cap has a hair-line crack so replaced this an the rotor arm. Picking the car up that evening, it seemed fine at first, bu then noticed the juddering but only slight.

Went home and a few hours later I went to pick my wife up from work and thats when the car litterally died on me, on a busy road. RAC came out and came to the conclusion that the immobiliser was being erratic and that it needed re-coding.

A week has gone by and it is in a landrover dealership being looked at, but they are still none the wiser as to what the problem is. Originally they said it was the door lock as it was not accepting the key code on one side. They have now got that sorted but the car still will not start.. Their words, there is still not spark. They also checked the coil, but thats ok.

I am now really ****ed off as I have had the car just over 3 months (just out of its warranty) and I have wanted a freelander for a few years now, and this happens.

Has anyone had this sort of problem, or think they might know what the problem is or where possibly to look etc. HELP!!!
