Dead 200tdi Water Pump...

Need some help. My Water Pump died tonight. As water is ****ing out of the fan pulley.
So what advice can you give about fitting a replacement pump???

don't fit a britpart one

as sean says! they're fookin crap!

Use a piece a cardboard and poke the bolts through in the same order as you take em out

Oh and be prepared for some manky bolts.... you may need some heat on them

If not a Britpart pump, which is worth the cash???

get an original LR pump - or at the very least one from Bearmach (which might well be an OEM one anyways)

and treat yourself to a new set of bolts for it

when i had my disco in the end i only used OE parts, they are quite a bit more expensive but you should only have to replace them ONCE, unlike britpart ****e that would break as you took it out the box,
find a good independent parts dealer, and don't bother with paddocks or craddocks

Have had a look round at prices for a new pump, but am getting a very wide range of prices.

So what is actually so wrong with britpart ones?

They are like most there other products, just dont last more than 5 miniutes

Maybe have the correct gasket ready as well

This afternoon was spent fitting a new pump. Which went very well.
Well its not fallen off yet...

I got the pump at a very good price from Gigglepin4x4 Gigglepin4x4 : Home of the Twinmotor winch : Jim Marsden down in Sevenoaks. (boy do they have some nice Landy's in and around the workshop)

Right no to the next job...
