Hi

Having used this forum a lot for a great source of info, I thought I'd post some pics of my Disco

It's a 97 3.9 that will be used mainly for ferrying kids/bikes/dogs and the odd green lane trip rather than hardcore mud-plugging (as I'm sure you can see) :D

I knew the look I wanted, wider stance, and it HAD to be black, Java Black in fact

75mm flexi arches looked gash, so I cut them down, bonded them to body with Stronghold 2k adhesive, filling in the screw holes while at it

Then filled/smoothed

Arches where a nightmare by the way, and left me wondering wtf I'd got into with half the rear doors and quarters cut away!

But I persisted, and here they are primed, roof/engine bay and door shuts painted

Wheels and tyres were eBay bargain, then sent to a customer of mine (Atomic Wheels in MK, highly recommended) for stripping/ powder coating in gloss black

Fitting of lights which I think brings front end up to date (bolt-on-bits)

and bumper, which was the most extravagant purchase (TP4x4)

P.S. bumper had to be cut down as extended aches had shortened gap from arch to front panel... Poo'd my pants cutting £450 worth of bumper down :screaming_bug_eye_f

Exhaust fabricated using 2 Cherry Bombs that were kicking about in shed :flame:

And that's about it for now....

Need to sort an annoying misfire issue, and have some privacy glass fitted, then who knows?!!

Have you got a link at all for the headlights?
I love the fact that yours has more of a "mean cruiser" look to it
whilst we all know it can still get upto muddy stuff :)

very nice indeed, Ive been looking at those lights for months, they do look awesome on a disco, wasn't sure at first but seeing full photos yes. Shame about the price though.

great work on the arches, been thinking of filling my screw holes in. but have used filler in anger since an old escort in 97!!

Thanks, arches were a real pig though, nearly beat me! I used the same stronghold as was used to bond them on to fill holes, which is basically liquid plastic and shouldn't crack (we hope!) then sanded, then filled
