The other thing I noticed on my "not on the public highway" test drive was that the clutch was a bit low. Not on the floor but worth investigating.
I need to find the slave and the arm that often gets mentioned on here and see what's what.
Lots of fume smells in the cab too. The engine wasn't running long enough to get below a fast idle and the rear window kept going down so that won't have helped!
Every time I put the window up there was a beep and it went back down.
If the back window is down on mine - I do get copious amounts of fumes entering the cabin.
 
Auckland is a beaut city to visit - the harbours etc make for a lovely setting.

The casino's here though are the cesspits of all casinos! They are truly casino's most horribleous - ****ty oversized sports bars. As you can tell, I don't like them much! Lewis Hamilton found out how good Sky City is when he visited before the Aus GP this year - did you see the Twitter message he put up - then quickly deleted when he realised how seriously 'uncool' the whole event was?
The main thing I remember were the scary, enormous Polynesians.
Sky City was a bit of a dumps, especially when compared to Sydney Harbour Casino or Crown in Melbourne.
 
Couple of hours spare to do the other rear brake....
Cylinder first. Both bolts rounded using a six sided socket on one bolt and a 6 sided ring spanner on the other.
The flares on the brake pipe both rounded with a Teng flare spanner.
I have managed to free up the existing cylinder and might have to refurbish it in situ as a temporary measure.
Found the problem with the driver's internal door handle. When you pull it the inner and outer are both sliding. How is the cable outer meant to be fixed in place so that just the inner moves relative to it?

Back on it. Before the break I removed the center console to adjust the handbrake cable. The two screws at the from disintegrated leaving about 5mm of tatty thread sticking out. Not enough to mole-grip and seemingly tight as hell. It's not vital but they are bugging me!

Any suggestions. Plan B is to go La-La-La and ignore it, maybe with a bit of velcro (the quality car repair product).

Just drill a couple of new holes next to the broken screws. Then thread the holes to M5 and fit some more bolts.
Oh and there's no need remove the whole console to adjust the HB. You simply have to pop off the cover plate at the rear face of the console. The adjuster nut is easy to get at with a 13mm socket;)

If you're careful you might be able to drill down the centre of the sheered bolts, then again with increasing size of drill bit until you are able to just slightly off the thread, then using a small pick you can remove what's left of the old bolt from the thread so you can put new bolts in
 
I might have a go but it's a bit tricky with the handbrake level in the mix. Nothing to lose if it goes wrong, just drill some new ones.

I'm getting back onto it again. Enthusiasm increased as the amount of gin in the bottle decreased.
Bought a new tailgate handle to fit. Diff oil seals. Many oils and fluids etc.
Have some bigger jobs to face up to - diff, driveshafts etc. Just need to gird my loins.
I'm also looking for a good condition Hippo to use as my daily. :D
