i compared it to the old hinge and the back side of the hinge is alot bigger then the oem one, which would explain why it catches :/ all the others are landrover ones only the top one is britpart, you would have thought paddocks would send out all the same make lol Its coming together but has to be taking all apart to be painted :'( decided today to take out the windscreen and replace the cracked windscreen rubber, going to be a pain to get back in, tempted to put a heated one in

also is there any mods that can tidy up the first page of comments or do i need to start a new thread and do it proper lol

haha right o then :p im trying to work out how to send my landrover to the body shop to be sprayed, want a good job so if i want to move something in the future, im thinking roof and sides in one bit. then rear tub in another bit then wings and doors also front grill and windscreen surround. what you recon? dont see why id take the rear sides of the roof so wont be a problem just worries about the rubber seal and paint flaking off, or am i getting abit anal about the rebuild? lol

Suppose it depends, Are the roof and sides going the same colour?
Although personally I'd separate the sides and the roof and refit the seals after.

its all going the same colour, hmmm im thinking thats the way to go remove the roof, even thou i dont want to all them bolts lol do some more sanding tomorrow buy some primer and fit the rear cappings and trial fit the lights tomorrow, build the other wing up and have everything ready to bolt on when the paint shop opens in the new year :/ tempted to get the seat box sprayed and the bit behind the seats

Inside and out will look better.
And yes I know what you mean there's loads of them.
When ever I'm lining panels up a bolt in each corner is about all I use :)

have to mod that ****part hinge then :/
out with the grinder :)

just makes a little more work for me lol been avoiding wiring for a few days lol will have to do it sooner of later :)

hello, not much progress since new year no money and everywheres closed soo body parts will be going down to spray this week. dont know when i'll have them back maybe before the end of the month. Looking for the rubber that goes under the wiper motor housing seem to have lost mine :s tryed ebay and paddocks but thing im searching for the wrong thing, if anyone can shed some light? will get pics up when i start making brake pipes start repairing the wiring

well bit of an update i suppose just sanding and prep work really new cappings which i fitted then needed to take off because it needed bit of bending. annoying but didnt want a panel gap tbh.

They were originally fitted to early 90 & 110s that used the antiburst latches on the driver/passenger door.

They stopped the seatbelts getting chewed by the door catch. They also prevent you ripping your trousers on the catch when you jump in quickly, but thats another story

Nice rebuild by the way, keep up the good work! :D

Hey cheers hard to keep motivated doing prep work but getting there little by little, well I found this on the rear door , I'll just tidy it up and use it as a spacer lol

By hand lol :/ night mare tbh, thought about getting a DA but i wouldnt use it again so by hand it is. body parts are going to the body shop monday so get some shiny bits back :)

nice rebuild. If i was to do a rebuild again I would have painted all the parts under bonnet, firewall, inside and body capping etc and then just spray the outside in one go. I have probably used twice as much paint as needed through doing it panel by panel.
However the upside to panel by panel is being able to see your making progress haha

Depends if you've got a big enough compressor. I haven't so mine got done a panel or 2 at a time anorl.
