Hi all, first post :)

I've got a 2003 V8, which pulls like a train and isn't too bad on fuel (17.9mpg). I've heard about the DATAMax remap, from RPi. They claim more torque @3000 rpm and a 10% improvement in fuel economy. Has anyone fitted one, are they any good? At that improvement in fuel, it would pay for itself in 12 months.

TIA,
Thomas

I wouldn't buy anything from RPI, or give any of their claims any credibility.

Have you thought about your increased insurance premiums, or are you not going to bother telling them?

The economy claim is '10 to 15% MINIMUM'. :) :)

"However the dominant characteristic is actually a huge hole in the torque curve, centred around 3000 RPM. This is filled in very well with the upgrade, delivering an extra 10-15 lb/ft of torque and much faster throttle response. Economy improvement is 10-15%. minimum. "

Yes, I know that they claim that as a minimum, which is why I quoted it, rather than 15% or more. It'll pay back within the year at the minimum, less if I get better from it.

And does no-one else have an opinion on this? Or did it just drop off the front page too quickly?
