Dash vents do not work

Hi, I recently purchased a 2003 L322 range rover and the hvac selector buttons do not appear to work as I am unable to select the air conditioning to blow through the dash vents. Is there a trick to diverting the air flow out the dash vents that I am missing?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do any of the blower position switches light up ?

Yes, the selector position switches do light up.
