i have a friend at work who has recently purchased a range rover l322 diesel. he has had it into the back street bodyshop near work for both sides repainting.
he has got it back today after being relieved of £500 and the abs and traction control lights are lit on the dash. the info displays says hdc not working and air suspension fault.
ive had a quick look at it tonight but cant find any fuses blown etc.
could it be the switch on the drivers door for dropping the suspension when getting out that has not been reconnected? if not then its off to landrover for diagnosis and a hefty bill to be given to the bodyshop owner.

Turn Engine on and start car....

Turn the steering full ock to the Left and hold for 2 seconds...then Full Lock to the Right and hold for 2 seconds...then back to centre - this should reset the Steering Angle Sensor and clear the faults....

Sounds like either they disconnected the battery or the Battery got low.....on the L322 if you discon the Battery, you have to reset the SaS for the various ancillary system to work again.

thanks for the quick reply. just been and tried to reset sas but no better.forgot to say the suspension is on its arse but i did notice that when you get out and close the door the suspension tries to go up.

Hmmmm....sounds like Diagnostics are in order....

On the Height Selector Switch are ther eany lights at all??

All Off = Hard Fault
Standard & Hold = Soft Fault.

Whereabouts you located? maybe someone close who has the Diagnostic Gear to read and clear the fault codes....

the light in the middle of height switch is on and flashes if turned. i know the door trims were removed so i wonder if the door button has been left off.
i do agree that the battery has probably been drained, i just hope that an ecu hasnt been spiked when boosted.
i dont know how far to go with it or send it back to the bodyman, going on what ive seen so far i think it should be kept away from him.

Never boost a Range Rover - technically it can be done, but if not done in the way described in the handbook, they hate it...

Usually the Lock to Lock will reset the SaS as all the indications point to that, but I am affraid if that didn't clear it, Diagnostics will be the next step to see why the EAS is in a Soft Fault....

Yep diagnostics.
What year is it?
Had the battery off mine and it didn't need SAS reset.
Diagnostics is a must...

update. l322 went back to the bodyman, who sent the owner to an electrician on the other side of town. plugged it in to a diagnostic and found nothing(wouldnt communicate). so he kept the car for further investigation. owner has since spoken to a LR tech who said it was common if boosted and would delete the faults with LR diagnostic.
owner returned to collect his car from electrician and take to LR techy, only to find the dash had been removed for investigation.
glad i ducked out of the job now.
