Hi all

Can anyone help ! I have an 03 TD5 and have just changed my diesel filter, i topped the new one up with diesel and fitted, i turned the engine over and it started no problem, after a while of ticking over the engine started to labour and cut out, i have been trying for some time to start it but with no success, does anyone know if there is some sort of lift pump or similar in order to get the fuel through or is it a case of keep tuning the engine over until it fires ? If you can help i would be very greatful.

P.S I still think they are great cars even though it is trying my patience !
 
hold the throttle down and turn it over until it starts in 20 second bursts resting 30 secs in between until it turns over, then run it at 2000 rpm for about a minute then let it tick over for 5 will be fine, its self purging, but you do have to let it prime before starting so beofre doing the baove turn ign on wait till fuel pump stop off and then on again aout 10 times and it will work.

You are a star !!!!! I had to purge it 3 times, it turned over for about 5mins then cut out again, i repeated it abou 4 times and it's running a treat, the only issue is that tha pump is still a bit noisy, i hope this will calm down a bit as it gets rid of all the air.
You've put my faith back in Landys.

yeah it will quiet down after a bit
 
mine was only in the first 90 minutes, it was the one i thought was most likely to come through out of the 4 bets in the accumulator, and all the others did. ah well

minor detail :)

Liverpool might as well shut their ground now, that's it all over this year for them
