I just hope I don't make any forum faux pas' and start looking for too much help. The entire point of my whole project is to glean initially but then gain enough experience to help others through their issues. Hopefully the Hawkeye will help me on starting that journey....

I've read as many old threads as I possibly can at this stage but not found answers to a few of my issues.... The search continues.
I'm finding that RAVE is my friend and will carry on that friendship for as long as my P38 lets me.
I will help absolutely anyone because I've already had loads of replies and will most likely need loads more. So if one can do it, then the many can.
I'll be honest though ...... I'm sorry but you lost me at Freelander..... I've never particularly taken to them! I'm so ashamed!

Diag for a diesel needs to be nanocom from black box solutions or proper Lr testbook not much else will talk to the engine.

The Hawkeye will probably talk to most of the ecu`s and will talk to the petrol engines but very very few will talk to the diesel edc ecu it is a law unto its self:(

As a newb you’re supposed to start asking if anyone has one for sale @£200, get ridiculed, then realise they are comparitive to rocking horse poo, then fix your P38 before you find one reasonably priced.

That’s what they usually do anyway

If diag does not connect to ABS ECU switch ignition off for five seconds then back on. It should then communicate.

Quick update lads.... Hawkeye is a dream come true and found a dead rear right sensor within seconds. The garage tried charging me £60 for plugging their machine in. I explained that there was no way their Snap On tool could have spoken to my ABS unit and they should have known that. The fight continues for the cash.......
