Damn wipers stuck upright

Have searched a bit on this but no one seems to have had the same sort of issue.
My wipers were working fine. Accidentally hit the stalk whilst driving, windows were dry so wipers went really slowly and got stuck upright. They would not budge at all by hand and moving the stalk now does nothing.
So I've removed the wiper motor, which has allowed me to push the wipers back to normal position by hand.
Does this sound like the wiper motor being at fault? Or could it be the wheel boxes? I assume it is the motor as they now do move by hand with the motor being out, but thought someone might know for sure before I buy a new one!

Bushes inside motor cover often get dry over time,open up clean and lubricate and it should go again. Check fuse and clean connections.

if motor is at fault wipers will move easily by hand with it off

check the plastic pin onthe park switch isnt stuck pressed in. when the pin is pushed in by the rotor, this tells the motor to stop turning if the wiper stalk isnt in the on position.

however, if the pin is stuck inside the switch and the wiper stalk switch is on, there should be constant movement of the wipers as this would override the park switches decision.

the only possibility in this case would be that either the fuse blew at the same time as the park switch button got stuck, or a more likely case is that your park switch is broken/shorted out/come disconnected from one of its terminals.

Something similar happened to me not long ago. id check the metal connector things that the fuse sits in.
try taking the fuse out bending them in a little and putting the fuse back in.
was just a bad connection on mine

Had exactly the same problem, turned out that one of the wheel boxes was rusty inside. After stripping, oiling and rebuilding it works fine. I now regularly squirt them with wd40 on the outside.

Thanks all, they do move with motor out if i pull them but I wouldn't say they move easily by any stretch of the imagination!
Where is the park switch located?
Did check fuse and was ok, but I will double check the fuse connectors
Hmmm think I will check the wheel boxes before I spend money on a wiper motor. Seeing as the motor is out I'll give it a clean up later as well.

park switch is in motor/gearbox,wipers should move freely but will take a little effort
