With reference to my recent enquiry regarding the replacement of both ignition module & coil on my '87 3.5i ..

I ordered the components, including the long link lead (dizzy to module) but not ever having done this job before, decided to watch a 'how to' video on the 'Tube.
All seems pretty straightforward, but in watching the vid. I now realise I don't have the mounting bracket that allows the module to be mounted under the coil, nor the short lead from the module to the coil connections.

Obviously I should have watched the video before ordering, but hindsight is a wonderful thing
I ordered the components from Famous Four, but (even if I had know the plate/lead was needed) these items are not listed on their website.
Any advice regarding suppliers greatly appreciated,

nb. think a coolant temperature sensor might also be a good investment.

Thanks again guys.

An EFI temp sensor would be my point call if as you say the engine runs rough and misfire after reaching temp, had that couple of Rover cars.
pt,no ETC8496 from VIN D03546B/D04071B anything before was EAC3927L.

Up to engine no. 25D04774B the ignition amp pt.no was RTC3188 the big lump that sat on the inner wing with the coil on top.

I only remember the coil next to the distributor on my 1987 3.5 and never has issues with it being there. Now on my disco the coil is positioned over the near side of the engine bay next to the radiator alongside its amp and mounted on a bracket fixed to the slam panel.

I've sussed out that Rimmers do a complete kit, but at a extortionate price & seeing as I've already purchased the module itself plus the long dizzy to mod. lead ..
I'll call FF on Monday & ask if they do the bracket/short mod.to coil lead. If not (as I suspect) I'll have to go for a refund on the parts purchased & pay through the nose for the Rimmers kit

Thanks for your reply.
