I have a Discovery 3 TDV6 first registered 30/11/04, which I purchased used in April 2007. It is a basic 7 seat other than Climate Pack and Power fold mirrors. As I plan to keep long-term Im happy it has got fewer things to go wrong.
So far, the only warranty claims Ive made are for a new header tank (false sensor indication) and a split CV joint gaiter. However, before my warranty, extended to 12 months from purchase, runs out in a couple of weeks, Im in 2 minds as to whether I can legitimately claim for wear on the rear seat squabs. Either side of the vertical seams on the squab, there are lots of loose ends on the material either side of the seams (I wouldnt call it pilling, as its not in balls, and the seams themselves have not frayed significantly). I think its partly my fault because I tend to throw bags in the footwell rather than in the boot. Do you think I have any grounds for a warranty claim or am I being obsessive (you can be honest!) or are there grounds to regard it as a fault. Id appreciate your view as I know the dealer will say fair wear and tear
