OK chaps, here's one for the testbook experts. The engine warning light is permanently lit, and the fault shows as cat/s fubarred. Not surprising,given the amount of playing around I have done with the LPG system. Given that I do not need cats to pass the emission test, can I remove them from the exhaust system, or will this cause an ecu brainstorm, and does this have to be programmed with testbook in order to extinguish the warning light? Answers on a christmascard please........:)

the after ones will be there to show whether cats are working,wont effect running but might put light on, there are options for getting around it ive heard of but not done it myself

Depending on the design of ecu if rear the lambda sensors are disconnected you may find the light goes out.

my 1uzfe conversion runs no cats and only front lambda sensors

Told you I always was lucky - I get to live in deepest Hertfordshire, but own a California spec motor...... nearest I'll get to living the Baywatch lifestyle. All the joy of secondary air pipework blocking access when I want to change the plugs too.

what is that????????????:confused::confused:

Emmisions reducing crap that injects air into the cold engine via a small compressor under the bonnet (hood???) and a mile of associated plumbing that runs directly above the sparkers and makes them exceedingly difficult to get at.

:mad:

I suspect it's the evaporative emission system .

Just trying to figure out how you got your hands on something like that. Unless you are Merkin living in calif;)

I keeps tellin you...... I always was lucky! The sort of lucky that buys a bulk order of frozen lasagne the day before Findus get found out.....:doh:
I guess this Disco missed the boat on export day, or was a friday job at the factory and they forgot to swap the steering wheel to the other side.... anyhow, I found it looking alluringly sexy on a dealer forecourt and took it home with me before the awful truth dawned. :(

Anyhow.... any further forwards on making the little amber eye disappear from my dash, guys?

So you found hens teeth then;)

I am led to believe that all the US spec Disco 2's are also all 4.6 engines, is this true?

If so, then my luck runs true......I only got 4litres - tried for a 4.6 rebuild from Turners last year, but failed agin..... parts not available to uprate my engine.

Test, don't guess, so u know what that means :) the ecu is not or has not received the info it expects indicated by the illumination of the engine management lamp so to find out that snippet of info get it plugged-in.
