Got a d2 16p td5 Ecu and wiring loom...planning to put into my defender.

Want to get it running on the floor before installation. Taking the ecu to sort the immobiliser issue this week.

Don’t have a bcu tho...(unnecessary in a defender I think)... and planning to change the gearbox from auto to R380. Does the tuning shop need todo anything else to the ecu while I’m there??

Anyone on here have any gen on a project like with a td5 muchappreciated!

The D2 auto ECU will not work well for manual cos it misses the clutch switch's ''hardware" so no surge damping on gear change also the D2 setup in the Defender is not good cos the coolant temp gauge and fuel level gauge will be both upside down ... The only compatible ECUs are NNN000120 or NNN500020 which are both fitted to D2s and Defenders but a dedicated fuel map for each is needed as to be OK... you can make the engine run at limited performance with ''invasive'' improvisations but it' will be just a rude botch with an ECU full of permannent fault codes logged so better sell the D2 auto ECU and buy a Defender one if you want ''clean'' job.

thanks for that sounds like the d2 ecu a paperweight now. Lucky it was free. definitely want a clean job. So would any defender ecu work (once the injectors in the current head have been matched to it) or must i get one of the two you listed?
Thanks for the help
