hi all my d2 pickup build is at the stage where the additional outriggers are being drawn up and welded on it. the cage will comply with MSA bluebook standard so everything will be built from minimum 6mm wall box section steel.

the build plan is to prepare the disco by welding on all the necessary framework before sending it to a rollcage specialist to have the cage built.

as my body mounts and outriggers located between the B post and the rear wheel are completely rotten my plan is to weld on a box section sill the full length of the cab which would be welded to the cage outriggers thus supporting the rear of the cab.

the real problem I have is coming up with an outrigger for the front hoop that will not foul the radius arms and so any advice or pictures of your outriggers would be much appreciated.
thanks all

Ok.
Box section will fit above the front arms & onto the chassis.
Sorry Not got the measuments as to where they go.
Your sills can mount to these with flat steel between them & the original body mounts.
Who ever is fitting the cage sometimes welds these chassis parts on. Don't forget the spreader plates between cage/chassis
My rangie was external front hoop going to internal rear.

oh if you could take a picture of your outriggers on the front you would make my day here are some pics to explain the rough idea I'm thinking of putting the outrigger as close as I can to the body mount bracket . yeah I've got plenty of 6mm plate for the spreader plates.
I need to lift off the body to weld in the spreader plates but it shouldn't be to difficult as I've fitted new body mounts by the footwell and the whole front end is getting cut off anyway just basicly leaving just a cab to lift. hopefully lol
cheers m8

Not got the rangie motor any more so unable to take photos.
All we done was take the front springs out & removed bump stops.
Sit it axle on the chassis. Used 3x3 box.
Below old racer done exactly the same no arm brackets modified
