D2 rear air suspension sagging, after new springs fitted

Still going with this. Got the "expert" round after a two week wait. Checked fuses and relays. Went under and went straight for the rear ACE ram, found the front ram. Then diagnosed the problem as what I now know as the ACE pump. (opposite side to the compressor) I was hot. Hot means its overworking, overworking means its knackered.Phones a friend, he agrees. Suggests I call and order a new pump. On the phone to a parts dept in UK, guy says its should to be hot, pulls over 4 bar and is constantly running.. Guess its not that !! Good news is I managed to get the compressor serviced by a local guy who repairs domestic stuff, and its fine. I can now raise it in ORM, but still nothing in normal mode. Going to get the ride height sensors done tomorrow. Logic tells me that must be the answer. I can raise and hold height in ORM, everything is working, even the ACE pump!!

Hi guys, I posted a query but this seems like a good thread to join. 2004 D2 TD5 Premium 7 seats.

Ok, back driver's side sagged one day. Fair enough. Happens. It's a LR. Changed both suspension bags with Dunlop items, sags again rear driver. No evidence of leaks. Changed the non-return valve next to the compressor, still sags. Comes up to ride height ok, drives fine and extended height no problem. Usual hiss when at level, hiss when engine switched off as normal. Am I being really stupid and missing something obvious? Booked into LR (in France) for an ECU diagnostic but I hate to think how much it will cost. Rather take some advice from the forum. Only thing not changed are the sensors on the rear axle. Happy to change to avoid being ripped off by the dealer. Do these need "re-programming" once fitted. Any advice gratefully received.

The sensors are easy to replace, before you go near them you need to disconnect the fuse under the bonnet and also remove the relay for good measure. If you don't do this prior to removal you may need to have the new ones recalibrated.
There is a write up in the Discovery Technical section on how to do it

Cheers for the info Biggeeeee. I'm inclined to change them anyway, she's getting on in age (although in near perfect order) and the parts from Island 4x4 will be 20% of the cost of LR France doing a diagnostic then saying the parts a knackered and need replacing. Oh for an independant over here!

Thanks

The rubber on the bottom bushing that bolts to the trailing arm usually perishes causing false readings.
I always carry 2 spare with me along with a 10mm and 13mm spanner as I've been caught out with one side of the vehicle raising to full height and the other collapsing. Had to be recovered the first time, now I can change a sensor in 10 mins and be back on the road.
Going to temp fate now and say I have in the past bought only genuine ones but the last lot were out of a Blue box and have been fine for a few years.

Disconnect the battery over night and if it drops this way too there's still a leak somewhere and leave the sensors/ECu alone, leaks can occur at the valve block or pipes too noy only the bags if it doesnt drop with battery disconnected then it's a management issue
