D2, grinding when pulling away, tc light on,

hi guys,
when i pull away any harder than a gentle start you get a grinding sound from the nearside front hub and also the traction control light comes on,
i'm guessing the driveshaft is spinning in the hub,
does this sound likey ?????

New hub required I think. Paddocks, and ask for OEM part. Think I paid about £170.

is it more likely the splines in the hub rather than the splines on the shaft that have gone?

Mines done the same, and it was the bearing in the hub had collapsed. One minute it was fine, the next it was making a horrible grinding noise on pick away. Funnily enough, it was ok when you got up to speed a wee bit. I wouldn't think it would be the splines.

the noise you hear is from the modulator as TC kicks in...if you are agressive with the throttle or the tyres are not the best as to generate wheel slip it's normal for the TC to kick in, that's why it's there...as long as the TC comes on only while you hear that noise is OK, be more gentle with acceleration and put better wheels...if it was a fault you should have seen the 3 amigos

Believe it or not, my lights did not come on. Bearing was totally goosed.

Jack it so wheel is free. Grip wheel top and bottom and check for movement in wheel. If I am telling granny how to suck eggs, just tell me to P-- Off.
