D2 G4 advice

Hi chaps.
iv been offered a D2 from a mate whos other mate owns, a repair garage owner,
iv been sent 3 pictures today as i said depending on all its info i may go look at it on saturday,
seems like its a G4 edition, or maybe a look a like, so can any one know how to tell a real one, will it say on the log book, what features should it have over a none G4, did a check on it earlier and it said red and my understanding is they should be orange, iv even heard that all g4's were V8's,
this is a TD5, 2003 with 170,000 miles and hes after £3200.
any thoughts, advise would be appreciated, iv owned 3-4 discos before so know what im looking at generally, its iv no idea about the G4, always liked the look of them though,

G4 has fatter roof rails they come with nice black interior
Seats arent leather, cant remember the material, leather was a lux upgrade
g4 has its own style of roof rack, the front bumper is defo not a g4 one
Yes they came with a td5. v5 will say its a GS model not G4 iirc

Im sure theres G4 owners club.

There u go, what u would have received if you had ordered one from LR. Orange paint + a decal or two but nothing else.,,,

looks like a normal red one with a sticker as has been said the G4s were orange and had several unique bits.

I don’t know discos but that sticker sure hikes the price tag, it seems .

Go and look with £2000 cash in your pockets, spread. if it solid underneath then it might be worth getting it out.

Having looked at a couple of genuine G4 challenge LRs, I can say that this one definitely isn't a genuine G4 challenge D2.
It's the wrong colour, and is missing all the G4 bits it would have had, some of those bits which would leave holes if they were removed.

Iffy add, the registration V8 RAD is for a grey diesel V8 Range Rover plus is states fitted with ‘G4 lamp guards’ and the cut & paste spec is for a silver high mileage Td5 disco.

it has GD53MHE on one of the photos i cant tell if its a H or a W but yeah its not the same as V8 RAD. private plate maybe thats not quite done properly.

cheers chaps, after reading all the replies, looking things up and paying close attention to the limited photos, id come to the same conclusion, its not a real one, iv not even asked really so the guy may not even claim it is, therefor i have no interest in it whatsoever,

I was referring to ‘kevstar’s post #5 on the black disco for sale on eBay that the person selling believes it is a G4 disco 2.

Its got the correct roof rails, front bumper & full interior.
The interior & front bumper are very hard to source but the roof rails ive seen loads of them for sale.
I looked at a black G4 up here looks the very same but it was rotten to death.
(sorry for the bold lettering)

Been resprayed (colours don't match) and the inside looks a bit grot.

Seat heater switches missing.

Rear window switches missing

maybe its a commercial then? i did notice something in the rear on one of the photos,

I have had one of these, it was on the v5 as a gs.
It only has small g4 stickers on the front wing, not the large one on rear quarter.
Inside has black vinyl seats (sure they are called modus design).
Outside they have large roof rails, soft A bar and front & rear light guards.
