Hi all, I have a problem.....symptoms are as follows :

Key fob would not unlock central locking. So I replaced batts in the fob and the
Remote receiver unit in the roof. Now if you use the key fob to lock the car it
Will lock but not unlock. The unlock all switch on the dash board works
Fine and the doors will lock and unlock using this switch. It just won't work off
The key fob ?.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I'm not sure if the receivers need reprogramming or not but, just remover the n/s/f inner kick panel inside the car and check the white plug for corroded terminals
I've included some pics for what your looking for if they work

Had a look my set up looks a bit different to yours but the connectors were clean.
I've been looking on forums and it seems to be pointing at the unlock actuator
What do you think ?
Thanks for helping - appreciate it.

what do you mean by unlock actuator? ...imo as long as all the doors are unlocking from the dash switch but none from the fob the problem is with the unlock signal from the receiver to BCU.... as asked before did you check with both fobs? cos the unlock input from the receiver is a 1000 baud signal on the same wire with the lock signal so if the fob doesnt transmit the unlock request that's it...if it happens with both fobs then the problem becomes more complicated

Hi, I've tried both fobs and get the same result - ie both will lock but will not unlock.

I have to do the EKA routine every time I try the fobs. I replaced the receiver and cleaned off the screws that secure it to the roof so it would make a good connection.

As I said all doors lock and unlock from the switch on the dash.

Thanks.

Have you tried it anywhere (location wise) else? These fobs are susceptible to interference. Especially if some wireless gadget is low on battery.
Drive it down the shop and try it again maybe!

Thanks for your suggestion, the lock and lock has worked fine since I bought the car just over a year ago.
MyD2 is always parked in the same place and up to now it has been faultless.
I've replaced the batts in both fobs recently so the problem is confusing me....

I'll try it tomorrow.

what happens when you open the driver's door with the key beside the fact that the immobiliser gets active.... do all the doors open then or just the driver's door, try to unlock twice with the key without opening the door, if only the driver's door reacts on the key and no other door then IMO the problem is within the driver's door switch...dont you get a misslock(short horn) when you lock?(though this could be disabled)

get to a tester and check the driver's door switch inputs cos it's possible and if it doesnt work replace the door latch assy cos the switch is part of it and this is causing you the trouble...provided it doesnt work for all doors cos then i'm out of ideas...was the replacement receiver a new one?

if you get it plugged in a tester think about this http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/recommendation-d2-owners-184078.html

I drove down the road a bit and tried the fob but same storey.
I was thinking about this problem today so if the receiver died would there be a possibility that it has corrupted the BCU on the unlock command?.
If so can I take to someone who has diagnostic capability and test the theory ?
Can you interrogate the BCU in this amount of detail ?.
