Hi everyone i have a 2002 d2 driving home brake pedal went soft, got onto drive pumped it a few times and it went to floor.Looked underneath and big puddle of brake fluid near back driver side wheel. Looks like pipe split up near chassis? i not sure if replacing pipe is something i could have a go at? is it a tricky job? next question (probably a stupid one) would it be possible to drive SLOWLY to garage to get fixed or will brakes fail completely ? Thanks in advance for any help, Matt

jamesmartin another question if thats ok? What size is the pipe and what tools do i need? Is it compression fittings or do i need to get a former? Thanks again.

get under it and see what's leaking.

follow it along and you'll be able to undo the unions on each side of it.

take to nearest garage and get them to knock a new one up or buy a predone one online.

fit, fill and bleed :)

to do yourself, a roll of cunifer or copper, unions and a flare tool. i think disco2 is m10x1 (check that)

if it is that bad due to corrosion, i'd change the lot.

go check the calipers and rubber pipes while you are there. no point rebleeding it again in a week or so.

Just make sure that the pipe is clipped properly. Paid some one £150 to do my pipes and about 4 months later and 2 hours before my wife was due to tow a horsebox the brakes were spongey. Looked underneath and found that they hadn't been clipped in and the new pipes had been crushed. Ended up paying again.

3/16 pipe metric fittings with a joiner if your doing driver side , pipes undo under front passenger side , clamp the flexi before undoing the pipe it saves losing the fluid and making bleeding a harder job, pipes runs from there in one piece each to the rear with drivers crossing across which is the part i fit a joiner
