Disco 2 D2 33s

Hi I’ve recently bought a td5 D2 manual and I’m looking to make it into an off-roader. I’ve got a D1 just never put 33s on it just the insa turbo tyres and a 2 inch lift. It did great off-roader but struggled in the deeper areas causing the car to bottom out. With the D2 I was wondering if 33s are worth the price and which tyre to go with because I’ve heard they’re not the best off-road and can be slippery and not great for traction.

33s will give you the same under axle clearance as most Defenders, so might help, dependant on where you off-road.
You mentioned using Insa Turbo tyres - but that's just a brand name of a company that make a significant range of tyres with varying compromises for off-road use.
The typical extreme off-road variant is the Special track - which is great off-road in mud, but not great on-road as the gaps between the tyre blocks are huge for optimum mud clearing, but reduce the rubber in contact with the road by maybe 40% compared to an All Terrain or fully road biassed tyre.
I use Special Tracks on my D2 for off-road competition. They can get very scary on-road if it's wet or the temperature is low.
In mud, they're good, but there are even more extreme patterns out there which are better under some conditions as they act even more like paddles - giving straight line grip, but worse grip on side slopes / big cambers.
It's important to lower the pressures to allow the tread to flex off-road, helping the tyre displace mud - but be ready to increase back up to road pressures to be less scary on road. I don't go below 22 psi (a limit set for competition), but even then the tyre bead gets pushed off the rim occasionally.

Hi, thanks I should of been more specific I run insa turbo desert tracks at 245/75/16 and I do most my off-roading in mud, water and more hilly areas. The tyres handle really well but I don’t know if they’re really made for mud and more of a sand tyre so now that I’ve got a D2 I just wanted to know if with 33s maybe with Cooper stt pros or insa turbo special tracks will I get through mud and water better

The Special Track's will be better than Cooper STT Pro in bad mud. The Coopers will be much better on road as they're "original" tyres rather than remoulds - which almost always have balance difficulties as the tread is so deep (some of my Special Track's have 4 layers of stick-on weights to get the balance "reasonable".
I have a few friends who use the Coopers off-road and they are a good compromise - especially if you don't want to change wheels / tyres for different use or have a lighter vehicle such as a Defender.
