Hello.
I have a 1998 D1 v8 that's running poorly and have been scouring the internet for information. I found some information about the software Rovergauge and thought that could be a help instead of replacing parts in hope of something working. Went and looked through my car with the help of a friend who's a professional mechanic for the plug and after hours of searching in the places the plug "should" be, we found nothing.

All the old forum threads I've found about the subject where people have asked about it they've gotten instructions about the general area it's supposed to be in, but then nothing more. So my conclusion is that it should be pretty obvious once you know where to look. If anyone have more precise information on where it should be it would be much appreciated!

The car is a 1998 Disco 1 v8 auto, left hand drive. I'm in Sweden, and as far as I know the car has not been imported.

Thanks
Gurko

Hi Gurko WELCOME to the Forum. For the UK market the 'socket' is in the drivers footwell and pretty obvious.

For LHD is like in the pic but if it's not there just the empty hole open the lid and search around that area cos they used to drop inside

Thanks! From what I could gather that plug is only for the alarm system? I've tried with 6 different readers and none could find a connection. Or is a special Land Rover-reader required?

Yes, dedicated LR tool is needed, it's not OBD2 protocol, only the socket is that type
