Hi, I have a 94 300tdi with the key and separate fob that opens and locks the doors.
I'm wondering if it's possible to change it to just a key, with the fob electronics built into it.
Is this possible?
Thanks on advance

So with a key and fob combine similar to the D2 ?
I don’t see it being impossible for something like that being designed and built for the D1 and other Land Rovers of the time that had a separate fob, if there was a market for it but expect there wasn’t.

That's the sort of thing I wanted, it's easier to carry one key on a bunch.
So it's not something that has been done already then?
I suppose I would need to start with a lock Smith or someone like that.
Cheers

Okay, why not start with a vehicle key company called RemoteKey, they appear to know a thing or two on key fobs, so may have been ask a question similar to yours.

With my DIY cap on, I would need a key-fob similar to the D2 maybe, or any case that has the minimum of two buttons that can contain the necessary D1 fob electronic parts plus a replaceable key blade that can be cut with a D1 key profile.

Ideally, a universal handset with a blank blade being available and with the suitable kit could programme it to be a replacement, but I doubt it.
