Morning fellas

Has anyone any experience of fitting the diff lock linkage off a D1 on to a D2.
Are there any issues apart from cutting the hole square through the transmission cover.

The other options are Ashcroft or the chap building his own both if which are around 200 quid.

Any info appreciated.

Cheers

Cheers for the swift reply.

I found this whilst searching but I couldn't load the page. Seems your link worked first time.

Ta very much.

Would I gain anything from usig the Ashcroft linkage over this method?

Cheers again

Going by your motto on your page mate, do it with the right parts from Ashcroft. I done mine by following that link and definately cut the cable he says at the bottom of the page. It's bloody good.

i would say either way if youve got access to parts cheap off a 300 tdi use those ,if not get a kit ,the bowden cables dont allways last as recent post shows and replacement may need new kit where 300 parts are available

Don't know if this is of any interest, but when I was free'ing up my diff lock, was talking to my friendly LR man, and he was telling me about a chap that used a Central Locking motor on his D2 to activate the diff lock electronically to save fitting the lever etc.

And from doing my own, I can see how it could work and would be quite a cool mod ;)
