paraffin , diesel , petrol , all good as long as they dissolve to crap and carry it out when they leave....I prefer paraffin if I have any to hand but used diesel and then a wash of petrol on a very crusty one the other day

has anyone modded it to vent to a catch tank?? or fitted the ally versions on ebay (think it maybe allysport)
any benifits or is it easier to just put new oem ones on now and then

they should pass very little oil ,ive never found them to be an issue

engine breather back to air intake.
as you look into engine bay left hand side of rocker cover quite high up and central

oh, the reason i was asking about modding is that I was thinking of fitting a new intercooler and didnt want any oil going into it!!

yep well aware of that, just wanted to minimise contamination and think cyclone is original 190k!! egr's gone and thats a good start

As long as they are well sealed and unless they physically fall apart , whats to go wrong with one ? Not being facetious , I genuinely would like to know

same here just seen some alu ones on flee bay and wondered!!! also there was more oil in my top intercooler pipe than I was expecting (no egr fitted)

the ones on e bay have the following guide/sales patter attached
"All engines need to breathe crankcase pressure to atmosphere and most are designed to re-enter the air intake system after the air cleaner.
Standard breather pots use a gauze and mesh design which over time becomes blocked with oil deposits, reducing the capacity to release crankcase pressure and also allowing more oil vapour to enter the intake system.
Our high performance replacement is designed to effectively reduce crankcase pressure build up on Tdi engines by using a series of internal baffles rather than the standard gauze and mesh design."

thoughts!!!
