Cumbria police issue Defender theft warning

From Thursday 4th July in the Westmorland Gazette:

Cumbria police are warning of an 'emerging trend' in Land Rover thefts. Eight Land Rover Defenders have been stolen from addresses in Kirkby Lonsdale, Appleby and Sedbergh since January, with Defender 90 and 110 models manufactured between 1990 and 2005 the most frequent target.

Update...this week's Westmorland Gazette has updated....11th July..... the thefts have extended from east of the M6 to the west of the M6 into south lakes area.... lots of BOAT's around here so a warning to members staying overnight.....

there also a gang going around Manchester 4 males all 30 to 40 yrs old they tried taking my 96 luckily got disturbed an it still lives

That's luck... How did they try to take it? C

Up here police say they are going mainly from landy's without immobilsers and alarms turned on.... and report that they are being broken up for spares......

I had my 2002 110 stolen this morning

it was taken from the knowsley village area its reg mj52 wxa its grey with the ifor Williams aluminium back

Put a good description and some pics and roughly where it was stolen and people will keep their eyes peeled.
Stick it on landywatch too,
