i have checked the faultmate on my cruse control and the fault is the brake/clutch switch on the brake pedal, i removed the switch and checked its three pins, the outer 2 work the brake lights but the middle one dose not seem to do any thing, it dose show a small reading when the switch is pressed in but only in the middle of the press for a second, after i had removed the switch i did notice replacing it back into the bracket it no longer pressed the switch when the pedal was released, i had to bend the small bar on the brake pedal to make it touch the switch, it now cancels the brake lights when the pedal is released but only just. Do i need to buy a new switch? and why after replacing the switch it was no longer able to push the switch all the way closed when the brake pedal was released?

thank you :)

Replaced the switch on mine couple years ago, thought that was the problem with my none working cruse (turned out to be a relay faulty) . Think it went something like depres brake pedal, fit switch then lift pedal to set switch, so maybe having removed it for testing its not set properly now, just a thought.

Not teaching you to suck eggs,
but there are two switches on the brake pedal...one for the brake lights and one for the Cruise Control system.....

If yours is a Diesel, there are not Vacuum lines as the CC is electronically controlled.....

The second brake switch on the Petrol also incorperates a vacuum vent to vent the vacuum pressure holding the CC bellows to maintain throttle position....
