cruise control question

its never worked since ive had the truck so today i decided to take a look, the vacuum hose splits into a T, one end goes into the cab near the brake servo, the other end was tucked away in a circular cutout under the ignition coil, between the headlight and the airbox, also there i found an unplugged connector (orange and yellow inside) and a larger rubber connector with what looks like 2 spade connectors in there. what is supposed to be here? a vacuum pump? and if so, why is it gone

My vacum pump was hiding under the jack storage area, there is a hole you can put part of your hand in and feel a small plastic pipe that the rubber hose fits on, once i refitted this pipe and the one to the belows the cruise control started working.

Yes... and where has it gone who knows, but it won't come back home, you will have to go and get another one.
