Just missed out on a new crossmember on theebay got f***in bid sniped! Hope whoever won cuts their hand off when their changin it..:D

or just bid wot your prepared to pay in the first place:doh:.As the pie man sed, the winner paid over the odds for it.

It's not the price, it's the timing....I've sat up til 2am to bid on summat in the States....the sniper means you can still have a life and win stuff at a resonable price.

you fail to understand how ebay bids work. Me n sean have tried to preach this a few times. The first bid yer make is the price yer prepared to pay. Eg £10 for a said item. The price you think think item is worth, the amount you are prepared to pay for the item. Put the bid in nice n early.Ebay will then increase you bid on your behalf. Now consider if someone is using a sniping program or decides to sit up till the late hours putting a bid in with seconds to go. If her out bids you, he has payed more than what you were prepared to pay. Not a problem, you are not out of pocket he is-for his troubles. If he equals the amount you bid then you win, first past the post.result you have the item for a price you were happy with. If he bids less than you, even a penny, he doesnt get it you do.Lots of people struggle with this very simple concept that requires zero effort or random potentially untrustworthy programs.

and if you recommend someone to sign up to sniper you get a small reduction in their fee for a while - i think that's still the deal ?

I understand fine, I can still nick it from under your nose, at a cheap price because some twit listed it at a silly time, a silly price or a silly description. Or your tucked up in bed cos you've gotta go to work in the morning and 'there's always another one'. :D

Don't worry it's one of those things, hope you get what you want for what you're willing to pay.:D

only if a sniper didn't spot it, or bid less than you - the difference being that the sniper is tucked up in bed

At the end of the day, your right....but you will probably be 'run up' to near your top bid.

There is always some twit out there with 0 feedback and he'll bid in £1 increments, drive you nuts and wastes time and money.

I've won items by 50p on a snipe, but my top bid may have been a £5 higher.

If someone sees that you've uped your bid, they may well say, 'I need it this week, I'll go an extra £10'
