Crank shaft sensor problem

Think ive found the problem why my 4.6 hse wont start, it is not reading the crank shaft sensor properly. If i am correct when cranking the engine over the rev counter should start to flutter up and down before it finnaly starts, mine does not do this. ive fitted the new crank shaft sensor but i need to know if any one has came across this problem before and did they have any success trying to rectify it?

For starters the crank sensor does not drive the tacho., it's driven by the alternator. Easy to jump to conclusions and change everything but obviously quicker and cheaper in the long run to get the fault identified with diagnostics to point you in the right direction.

Just had my friend come round with his reader and it gave code p1121 (throttle position sensor inconsitant with maf) Does this sound right? would it not start with this code and do i need to buy a new tps and maf?
