during the prep for the respray im coming accross more n more loose flakey paint.

it seems whoever painted it b4 didnt prep the paintwork and just painted over it. now i gotta remove it all which i could do without..
the roof seems to be the worst affected

yer right there..

ive spent more time removing old flakey paint than anything else.

but i dont intend on respraying it again ever!!

it's usually quite disheartening finding out what previous "careful" owners have done to your vehicle, i know exactly what you mean, you get all the kit ready, get all motivated, evaluate whats to be done, to find some muppet has made a straight forward job, twice as labour intensive.

Whenever something like this happens, i get a bit of a sickly feeling, wondering if i have bitten off more than i could chew, i get that alot now i own a landy, hope you get it sorted ok

im sure it will all come good in the end..im just lucky me mate is letting me use his lockup so time isnt an issue,although i dont seem to have a lot of it spare tho

Keep going - the results will be worth it in the end.

My missus spent a week sanding ours down and a weekend painting it; it looks the dog's nads now.

i reckon a couple more eves this week will see it rubbed down..

then its a case of masking and papering up ready for my bro in law to etch prime and prime on saturday..

gonna give the rock sliders and front bumper a lick o paint while there off aswell.

might give the rear crossmember a token lick o paint,but the new rear winch bumper will be mounted to the crossmember..

Slap on some Nitromoors and sit back and watch the TV! It will take all the bad paint and all the good paint off!

Works better in warmer weather tho!
