Well fellow Freelanders owners. The time has come for me to sell my much loved Hippo. When I say "the time HAS come" I actually mean I'm looking into it. I'm now having to do quite a lot of motorway miles for work and the V6 isn't the most economical of engines for huge mileage driving. So, I've been offered a company car which runs on this stuff called diesel. If I take the company car the Hippo has to go :(
If I could keep it I would but I just can't afford to run 2 cars.
I reckon I can get between £6000-£6500 for her. Full service history, recent head gaskets, cam belts, tensioners and cooling header tank, side steps, 39k miles plus all the usual bits the 2.5 litre V6 GS station wagon comes with.
There are some photos in the gallery of this fine machine.

Any one fancy a very quick V6 Freelander?
An advert will be going in the For Sale section just as soon as I've done the sums to justify it.

Don't sell up Mark ,least stay wiv us, i was thinking of getting rid of my old rocket the cost of active plutonium on Zog has gone through the roof . . .:)

If you get a company car will they not cover your fuel, services etc on it? Use it for work and keep your Landy as your own car, which you can run?

I suppose that leaves you with 2 insurance policys to pay mind you.

Company pay for everything, fuel (both business and private), insurance, road tax, servicing etc. Trouble is I lose my car allowance which equates to nearly £5k a year. So I need to sell the Hippo to pay a couple of loans off to justify the loss of earnings. I'll brake even but It will be nice to have worry free motoring and not pay to fuel a car :)
It's stil not a dead cert yet as I keep driving the Hippo and loving it too much. She is a beast with an addictive personality.
Ming, I'll keep posting even if she goes. You aint getting rid of me that easy. Plus we need some one to fight the Freelander corner ;)

I still have the Hippo. She still needs to go though.
I'm open to sensible offers now. SENSIBLE offers. I don't want to see "i'll offer you an orange and some nuts for your Hippo".

I hear that Yella. I was offered £3800 on Ebay, that was the maximum bid :(
She is being driven around with "for sale" signs in her now. £5700 O.N.O. I think no one can see them as I've had no phone calls.
Shame because the V6 is truly a fantastic motor, looks nice with the bigger front bumper, drives well and has tonnes of power. Oh, and she sounds sweet :D

Mondo, £5500 and she's yours. Where did you get £4800.
Just got back from the cinema tonight. The Hippo was driving extra nice tonight. Not sure if it was the damp air (been raining) or just the general weather :)
