Corroded rear door glass surround seals..P38

Only nasty bit on my P38 is the two rear door rubber surrounds. The ones visible from outside. Seems to be a common problem on these cars.
Have been to the dealer and they are(surprise!)very expensive.
About £60 each.
Is it possible to buy these anywhere else?

I've been thinking about these to, maybe some sanding and satin finish black paint. Are they steel or alu?

I have been told, that they need replacing. Can not be repaired...Metal I believe..

go to a breakers you,ll get a pair for a £10.i believe they,re a slide on or snap on fitment.

The P38 seem to be as rear as the rocking horse **** around here.....

:welcome2:yeh mine was the same
so i changed them ,went to a local breakers found a 2000 m/year rangie with good seals on . so removed window lower seal ,one small screw and prized it off. next the problem seal , you need to carefully prize off each side followed by the top, be very carefull a bit heavey handed:5bsmash: and you will kink the metal strip within the rubber this is what rusts under the rubber
they are rather a tight fit so i found some fairey liquid soap helps to get them back into place
be extra carefull on the corners as they are rubber only with no metal inside
as you take them off you need to prize them towards the centre of the window as they fit on very much like a door seal u shaped onto a metal lip
picked my set up for a fiver but i think from landrover they are about £35-£40 per side and they are handed

Yes the ones on my P38, it was all four that sort of bubble up under the rubbers (its ali inside), the door rubber surrounds.

They are about £60 each with the VAT and I have replecaed all mine now for new ones.
(To buy these anywhere else?) well I don't think so and RR are not making them anymore so you have to ring up dealers all over the land with a part number will help? also refitting them, its better to strip the doors down take a 4\5 hours to do all four?

This not good news......Still not sorted my car...Always some other problem comes up.
