All, I need help and before someone mentions it yes I have tried the search feature.

My Freelander is a 2001 with a 1A vin 1.8 petrol, according to Rimmer Brothers and some web sites my car should have the STC000160 hydraulic slave and master sealed unit! others say STC000180 so am totally confused.

There are no useable markings on the part removed.

Now having removed it and comparing to images, I am positive it currently has a STC000180 fitted as it has less bends.
I know this was changed in the past from the service records so could have got changed then.

Now there is a difference in price like double, so my question is apart from the shape what is the difference and can I get away with the cheaper STC00180?

I found the answer and the difference between the parts. The STC00160 is shaped to fit around the bulk head and under the steering arm. The one I took off didn't and the garage that fitted it had cable tied it to other pipes.
Did managed to find the STC00160 for £40 From Total Parts, also got a new bracket with next day delivery was cheaper than everywhere else I looked at.

Cheers, all purchased and fitted, got the correct on at a very good price from Total Parts, arrived following day. Put a new bracket on as well, does seem to flex a bit when clutch pressed. I assume that's why they fracture.
