Copper brake pipes?

Hi all,
As I have said previously i Have given my Freelander 1 to my dad who lives in France. He took it to get a French MOT and its failed in the front Copper brake lines!!! is there a kit anyone knows of to replace these?
Do you think the garage is trying to pull a fast one over him?

Maybe the French MOT rules are different from the UK. Copper is completely acceptable here, but over there, who knows. You can get original steel LR pipes, if that's what the French MOT place requires.
