I'm living in an area which is likely to have some heavy snow for the next few months..

At present I have mixed tread tyres on my 97 Disco but I'm curious to know if 100% snow tyres, or, snow chains are more functional.

Apart from the slight inconvenience of having to mount/remove the chains , is there any advantage in using snow tyres as a prefference?

snow chains are the best way.
real proper snow tyres will last about five minutes on a normal tarmac road.

fix the chains on when required and then remove them as soon as on the black stuff.

lucky b*****d lol
i doubt i will get any and my disco is about to appear on ebay in a few hours aswell, saying that bm's are just as much fun in the snow although somewhat scary :D :D :D
