Not yet. Going to check them in the morning. I was told the fans should kick in at 102 degrees. Going to get it plugged in tomorrow morning when its hot, and watch the temp on the live readings...

if the temperature sensor plug is unplugged whilst the engine is on the fans will automatically run, it's a test that you can do to check the fans at least will work.

Thanks for this - where be the temp sensor plug?

Follow the wiring back from the fan harness and its either a blue or brown plug I can't remember which.
It is not far away from the fans near the airbox:)

Air Con isn't just for the summer, it actually dries the air, so next time your screen is misted up, even if it's cold, bang the A/C on and turn the fan on full and the direction to the windscreen.

You'll thank me one day...........

I know, but thanks for the reminder. AC is just not on my "must have in a car" list. Now if the heater packed in, that would be a problem:)

AC switches on automatically in an FL when the heater knob is turned to demist ;)

Well, Tx for this tip Freelaner. Bloody hell you could build a hover craft with them fans on full chat - good to see and hear them working. My very slowly opening wax stat seems to have frozen solid now, so off to Dealer it was and nice new grey stat now in my mits for fitting tomos. Will read up on bleeding procedure.

Ha ha - that's why I said that mine weren't silent. :p:D

Most folks in the UK have never heard them come on full.

Leaving the engine idling will usually only bring on the low speed.

Not even towing a caravan/trailer in the Scottish Mountains in summer is enough to get the high speed on.

You need an outside temp well above 30C and then give the engine some serious work to do. ;)

Could having the fans running at full bore be the ultimate answer to HGF??:D
